Dave established and is currently the Creative Director at Chrometoaster, a web and brand design agency in Wellington New Zealand.
Originally working as a projectionist in Queenstown, he has since been involved in the Wellington film industry for over a decade. Dave worked in the Editorial department of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and was involved in the NZ Fringe Film Festival and Kodak Music Video Awards.
Dave was one of the designers and strategists behind NZ On Screen (www.nzonscreen.com), a hugely popular website dedicated to New Zealand film, television and music video culture.
Song of the Kauri found Dave long before production began. The film strolled into his life by way of a long friendship with director Mathurin Molgat. He was at once bitten by the film (in a lovely, holistic and filmic way) and became entangled in 5 years of bohemian film making.
Lurching around in the Kauri bush shooting stills, burying expensive camera gear in the ground to record falling trees, designing web sites, formulating work flows, generating technical design and living the dream of the independent film maker.
